From a very early age, music was all around Loz from the Beatles to Iron Maiden.  Originally wanting to play guitar from around 7 or 8 being inspired by the intro from Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing”.  It never quite took off however and a young Loz spent most of his time sitting around watching his brother Dan Smith jamming bass with his muso buddies.
Whenever they had had a break Loz would jump on the kit and try to replicate what he’d been sat watching.  Dan then asked him “Loz why don’t you take up the drums?”  So he borrowed an old kit and started learning Chili Peppers’ and Primus songs and jamming every hour of the day. 16 or so years later he is still going strong.
Originally influenced by Chad Smith (citing Blood Sugar Sex Magic as his drum tutor) and Tim Alexander, he slowly started to appreciate the heavier side of things such as Incubus, System Of A Down, Faith No More, Pantera and Slipknot to name a few, which helped sculpt the style and techniques he uses today.
Gaining good exposure with his band Sizen in 2009 with national publications, national radio play and an album release, Loz continues to play music wherever possible.  Now also as part of Live N Kickin he is looking forward to going out and rocking the socks off all music lovers in the area.
